  • Salads (check dressing)
  • Beans (usually refried, black, or pinto)
  • Bowls (anything that's a burrito can be turned into a 'bowl')
  • Pico de gallo
  • Fajitas (sans tortillas)
  • Cheese (real shredded kind)
  • Guacamole
  • Nachos
  • Chips and salsa
  • Taco Salad

What to AVOID: ❌

  • Flour tortillas (most places use these except actual sit-down Mexican restaurants)
  • Desserts (full of sugar)
  • Cheese 'sauces' (super processed)
  • Burritos (made with flour tortillas)
  • Soft tacos (made with flour tortillas)
  • Chalupas (made with flour tortillas)
  • Quesadillas (made with flour tortillas)
  • Rice (made with/from white rice)
  • Potatoes (full of carbs)
  • Gorditas (made with flour tortillas)
  • Wraps or roll-ups (made with flour tortillas)
  • Soft Drinks
