πŸ•ITALIAN DRIVE-THRU OR DELIVERY πŸ

In the Italian drive-thru, the main thing to know is that pasta and bread are not your friend. ❌

The second thing to know is that many of these drive-thrus will have grilled chicken as well as salads. βœ…

Think: GRILLED OR BAKED PROTEIN + VEGGIES 🀩

This combination gives you protein, fiber, healthy carbs, and some fat, to keep you full longer and your blood sugar in check.

What you CAN order: βœ…

  • Salads (watch the toppings: many include croutons, which are no bueno.) (Also watch the vinaigrettes, these sometimes have a lot of added sugars too.)
  • Any sandwich on lettuce (load up the veggie toppings; mustard is great.)
  • Meatballs
  • Fresh fruit
  • Veggie sides (broccoli, garlic, tomatoes)
  • Meat sides (roasted chicken, bacon, Italian sausage, meatballs, spicy sausage)
  • Any pasta dish or 'bake' WITHOUT the pasta {which means you're ordering the meat, sauce, and veggies.}
  • Cheese
  • Marinara side
  • Antipasto salad
  • Whole-grain rotini (Fazoli's)
  • Any pasta that is 100% WHOLE GRAIN or 100% WHOLE WHEAT
  • UNbreaded wings
  • Pizza (ONLY IF made with 100% whole grain crust)

What to AVOID: ❌

  • Pasta (even gluten-free as they're made usually with rice flour)
  • Bread-sticks
  • Croutons
  • Anything breaded
  • Most of the desserts (sugar + bread)
  • Pizza
